Question
Does God love or hate Satan? Did God "take a chance" that Lucifer would become Satan when He created him? If it were possible for him to repent could he be forgiven? Should Christians love or hate Satan? I have some basic vague opinions but would like to have your expertise. Thank you.

Thank you for your question...
The Bible does not address whether “hates” Satan. It is very clear that God will cast him into the Lake of Fire and he will be forever in torment after that. God justly judges Satan and the angels(demons) that followed him. He will receive the just penalty of their rejection of God their Creator. Satan was an arch angel and had a special position with God. That means he fully knew who God is and of His love, but he willing chose to reject Him. So the judgment of Satan is his just reward for his sin against God.
The Bible says that Christians should resist Satan and his temptations. It is not a matter of loving or hating him. He seeks to destroy all men and so we should draw close to the Lord Jesus Christ, have faith in Jesus Christ (1 Jn. 5:4,5). resisting steadfast in the faith (1 Pe. 5:8,9)., putting on the whole armor of God (Ep. 6:11-19). Christians should know and live by the word. (Mt. 4:4) and submit to God and resist the devil (Jam. 4:7). The power of the indwelling Holy Spirit (1 Jn. 4:4) gives us the ability and prevents Satan from indwelling us. We must always continue in the Word of God (Jn. 8:31,32).
