Dear Pastor Don
 Saw the Passion of the Christ. Got me thining about the Apostles Creed which I said every Sunday in the Reformed church. Do Baptists and or E-free denomintaion believe that "Jesus decended into hell" during the 3 days he was dead..?
 Where is it in the Bible or where would the people who say the Apostles Creed base it on?

Hi Laurie,

Sorry for the late response.

I do believe that Jesus decended into the center of the earth, where hell is.  Before the ressurection, all the dead were in the earth, on one side was paradise, and on the other was Hell.  Clearly Jesus told the thier that they would both be in paradise that day.  Jesus led captivity captive, meaning, he took those in paradise to the third heaven where they are now.

Ephesians 4:8-10
8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.  9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? 10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
