my baby son is only 10 months old. is it ok or apart of the baptist religion to do this proceedure? my mother disagrees, and i want to be certain. my pastor asked to be the god parents. please help. i know god doesn't mind i believe in god so much with all my heart and soul. i will and do trust in the lord. from whence my help comes. and i know this morning he will allow the holy spirit to use you to tell me this truth. amen. rev. harris thank you so much god be with you always.

I am very sorry for this late response.  Thanks for this great question.  Let us be clear.  The Bible does not condone any kind of infant baptism.  One needs to understand and personally accept Jesus as Savior before he or she gets baptized.

Acts 2:41
41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? 37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

If you wish to dedicate a child to the Lord, certainly that is a good thing, so long as you understand that you are not implying that this action will pardon the child's future sins.
