Question
I get confused about the "Antichrist".(and/or the man of perdition) Is this person OBVIOUSLY EVIL or does he DECIEVE people into believing that he is GOOD-perhaps actually the God of the Bible? Thank you.

Answer
Who is this big player in the End Times Events?
He is a Counterfeit of Jesus Christ ...
He is most often referred to as the Antichrist!
The word "Anti-Christ" itself is commonly misunderstood.
The prefix "anti" comes from the Greek language and has
two meanings:

Opposed to; and
In the place of or a substitute for.
The Antichrist will not only "oppose" Christ but he will do it in
the most sinister way ... by pretending to BE CHRIST!
"... Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God." 2 Thessalonians 2:4 (KJV)

This man will come on the scene appearing to have all the answers. He will not have horns and a pitch fork as many suppose ... but instead he will probably be a very charismatic, appealing world leader offering peace and prosperity.

The Bible says he "by peace shall destroy many"

"And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up. And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people. And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand." Daniel 8:23-25 (KJV)

"I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive." John 5:43
The Antichrist will surely be the one - the man with the plan - that comes forward with the solution that will FINALLY appear to bring "Peace & Safety" to the Middle East Conflict. However it will be a false, temporary peace.

For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape." 1 Thessalonians 5:3 (KJV)

"Wherefore hear the word of the LORD, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem. Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves" Isaiah 28:14-15 (KJV)

Antichrist will turn on them and break the covenant (peace agreement?) half way through the Tribulation period "... he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease.." Daniel 9:27

They are then warned in advance (by their true Messiah Yeshua in Matthew 24:15-21) that when they see the Abomination of Desolation stand in the Holy Place they are to flee to the mountains.

"When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be." Matthew 24:15-21 (KJV)
