Baptists/Should we worship on Saturday or Sunday?
Expert: Dr. Billy Kryger - 12/22/2007
Question"Why is it that Christians these days (including myself) worship God on Sunday rather than Saturday? Wasn't God worshipped on Saturday originially? Dosen't it have something to do with Jesus freeing us from the Law or something (us being Christians, does the freedom also apply to non-Christians?)? My primary reason for asking this is because I do not want to receive the mark of the beast. I know, that just came out of no where. I was reading this interesting article about how these people claim that out of the Catholic Church, the anti-christ will arise. I was a bit skeptical at first; but as I continued to read, I became more convinced. The site also claims that somehow by going to Church on Sunday, one is receiving the mark of the beast. Weird, but it kind of worries me because Church is less than 1 day away. Could you just take a look at it for me and show me that it's wrong (if it is wrong that is)? Here is the site name:

When you go to the page; could you look at (9) and 15 (the fifteen should be in red, this part is below the picture of Billy Graham.) Also, you may have to read stuff in between (9) and 15 in order to know what this person/people (I'm not sure who or how many wrote this) are talking about. Thank you!
AnswerThe Old Testament Jews worshiped on Saturday, the Sabbath, because it was required by law. Christ came to fulfill the law. We worship on the 1st day of the week, which is Sunday, not because it is the "Christian Sabbath", but to commemmorate the resurrection of Christ which occurred on the first day of the week. When you go to church on Sunday you are not taking the mark of the beast. There is no scriptural support for the arguments in the article--at least not if scripture is taken in context.
