I have booked an all-inclusive holiday to Amaryllis Beach Resort,formerly Asta Beach Resort, from February 23-March 1 for my 21 year old son and myself. We've never been to Barbados before and our travel agent highly recommended Amaryllis Beach Resort. (I was leaning towards Mango Bay Resort) I've just read absolutely awful reviews on tripadvisor.com These reviews are current. Have you heard that the accommodation is not meeting it's 4 star rating and they are severely understaffed? This is a very much needed and anticipated holiday and I don't want it to be spoiled.  Thank you so much.

I am sorry, but I know only that the owner had changed last year. I know Asta had 2 or 3 stars but the rooms were now refurbished and upgraded - I heard! I have no information about the staff situation! The Hotel is located close to the Garrison Savannah and the Historic part of the island. I personally prefer for swimming and snorkeling the West Coast - where Mango Bay Hotel is located. Just the Holetown area is very nice. Maybe you try to change the Hotel befor you are disappointed. Very nice at the South Coast is also Casuarina Beach Resort.
