Question
I'm interested in the Crystal cove hotel.  I'd really like to be able to do some snorkeling from the shore, do you know if there is much to see from the beach of this resort or others in the area?

Answer
Hello!

The hotel is a lovely one and there is enough to see while snokeling off that side of the island.  Swim out a bit and you are sure to find marine life.  Nothing dangerous though even though they do have baracuda and moray eels.  Sea urchins abound.

I like to go on a catamaran trip with Small Cats as he only takes a maximum of 12 guests.  He sails off from a landing very near your hotel to snorkel in a marine park where the government sunk a small barge which is now home to many fish and coral species. He also sails to go snorkeling with green turtles (big turtles).

There are many catamarans offering the same type of trip.  BUT, since he only has 12 people on board, there are only a dozen of you bobbing around with the turtles.  If you go on a larger cat, you will have 50 folks, many in neon orange lifejackets getting in between you and the things you want to see.

The operation is called Small Cats.  Take the five hour trip and get a great meal.  Look for a booklet called Barbados in a Nutshell in your hotel room or front desk.  Book it yourself directly and ask for a discount.

Have a great time!!!!

I am a 17 time return Barbados enthusiast and have found that I know more about the island and the Bajans than most locals do. The only thing I don`t know much about is the cruise ship culture and the really cheesy touristy attractions.

Experience

Whether you need information on sports, shopping, restaurants, nightclubs, transportation, weather or cultural events maybe I can help. If not, I can probably point you in the right direction.
