Answer
Hello Linda,

Since snorkeling and sea turtle watching are on your priority list, I would definitely suggest the West coast of the island. The water is very clear, and you the sea turtles are some of the largest in the Caribbean.

You did not give a budget, and the West coast offers budget to luxury to extreme luxury accommodations. The particular part of the island is known as the "Gold Coast". For hotels I would recommend Coconut Court Resort for a small, budget accommodation. Upscale resorts I recommend would include Crystal Cove, Glitter Bay, Royal Pavilion, Settlers Beach Villa Hotels, The Sandpiper and Little Good Harbour. Of course, you can also rent a small villa on the West Coast.

Now for your food allergies. You did not state what kind of allergy. Most hotels and restaurants will do their best to suit certain diets. Barbados is known for great fresh seafood, and world class restaurants. The locals don't have much of a taste for beef, so if you want a good steak, find an upscale restaurant that flies meat in daily. There are lots of local restaurants that specialize in seafood, chicken, fresh vegetables, etc.
