Question
Hi there, I hope you can help, I need to get from barbados to carriacou, and need the cheapest way to do it. I was looking at flights but they are private charter for about $200US. Do you know of boat companies that can help?

Answer
Hello Amy,

I think that a US$200 flight will be the cheapest way.  Barbados does not have a ferry line to get to any other island.  They do have cargo shipping lines that just might get you to another larger island, but not Carriacou.  You must also have tons of time.  Here are some telephone numbers:

Goddards Shipping & Tours,Ltd. 246-426-9990
Eastern Caribbean Trade Lane team 561-881-3992 or
888-578-5850.

You might be able to get to Grenada via cargo boat and then take a ferry to Carriacou with the Osprey Lines.

Another option would be to contact the Barbados Yacht Club and see if a private yacht is sailing your way.

I would think that even if you managed to get this all lined up, the savings would not warrant the effort.  But you go girl......, I've done similar things and they always turn out to be fun!

Good luck!

Expertise

I am a 17 time return Barbados enthusiast and have found that I know more about the island and the Bajans than most locals do. The only thing I don`t know much about is the cruise ship culture and the really cheesy touristy attractions.

Experience

Whether you need information on sports, shopping, restaurants, nightclubs, transportation, weather or cultural events maybe I can help. If not, I can probably point you in the right direction.
