Expert: BBQ Woman - 6/8/2008

Question
I am in the the search for a built in grill without the cabinets.  I have reviewed BBQ Galore and Grillmaster.

Cook chicken, salmon and burgers.  I long for something that makes a burger taste like a burger and not burn the BBQ sauce.

Any suggustons - I am not limited to these two.

Any of the grills you mentioned as well as others brands should make burgers taste like burgers. The best burgers in my personal opinion are the ones that are not too lean so that they remain juice and I love black angus beef. I also prefer to cook with lump charcoal but the convenience of gas grill sometimes over rides my decision to cook with charcoal.The problem with BBQ sauce and its ability to burn is not because of the grill. Its because of the sugar content in such sauces. The best way to have BBQ burgers is to cook the burgers without the sauce over a direct heat source and then move them to an indirect heat source to finish them off with a mop of sauce.  I hope this helps you.
