Question
QUESTION: hi, i was wondering if BBQing meats (like lean beaf) melts fat off?  my mom told me that cuz i am into nutrition and healthier eating.  I know grilling can take the fat away, but does BBQing.  thanx

ANSWER: Hi Ashley,
Grilling is a good method as the meat does not sit in the fat during the cooking process. There will be some fat content as it wont all melt away. Here is a good chart that shows the difference in cuts of meat and its fat content.

QUESTION: thanx a lot, but i wanted to know if BBQing melted fat, not grilling:)  thanx

Answer
Hi,
Grilling and BBQ can be the same thing. You place your meat on grates and there is a heat source below. It doesnt sit in the fats so any fat that drips off the meat during cooking falls away from the meat. However, it does not remove all of the fat as some will remain in the meat.
