Question
Hey John
I would like to know how to season the perfect steak. what seasonings, marinades, and wines could i use?

Answer
Ryan,

this is going to sound boring, but good ol' salt and pepper works for me.  Actually I make up a mix of tbl salt, 1/2 tbl pepper, couple of dashes of cumin and 1/4 ts accent (yes, MSG).  For steaks, I don't like to hide the flavor of the meat.  This mixture just brings out the flavor without changing it.  Now this is good quality choice rib eye, tenderloin, sirloin, porterhouse, t-bone.  For lesser cuts, like round steaks, eye round, I might marinate with the above seasoning and some Worcestershire sauce,, maybe add a slice of bacon to add some fat to this meat.

Eventually, it is all in what you like.
