Question
what's up? i have 2 questions. i've been cutting my own head now for 8-9 months and i've got really good at it and i have a newfound respect for barbers. i've always cut my hair 'against' the grain and i now i'm gonna go for the "360" look but i know that requires me to cut my hair 'with' the grain. my questions are: how can i get that "low-but-not-bald" look if i cut 'with' the grain of my hair and how can i cut with the grain on the crown of my head without putting a plug in my head?

Answer
Well before I answer this question I must say that it is FALSE that you have to cut with the grain to get and keep waves. Now to answer your questions, you can use a 1A with the grain it will cut it low but not too low. The key of nice waves is hair, the thicker the better but if you want a low cut look, your waves will still be there believe me. For your next question I would not even attempt it, although I know some one who does it every week but the key is to find any swirls and follow the direction of it and try not to go any other way or you will have a patch! Good Luck and hope this helps any more questions feel free to ask
