Question
I have the following that I could not find in a Barbie book.  My mother kept them in the original boxes and they have never been out of the box until this morning when I found out that I needed the info on their bottoms.  The Tutti dolls are sealed so I did not disturb them.  Any idea on the value?
Barbie (box says 1962) #850 Red (Titan?) Bubble hair
Barbie (Box says 1962) #850 Brunette ponytail Hair goes across the front of the face and is attached to side.  Not the little bangs.  Both Barbies have Midge c 1962 Barbie c 1958 By Mattel, Inc. Patented on their bottoms.
Skipper Brunette #950 Box says 1963
Skipper Blond #1030 Flexible legs Box says 1964
Ricky red head- plastic hair #1090
These dolls have 1963 Mattel, Inc. on bottoms
Tutti- one blonde, one brunette  #3550

I also have the first three years (1988, 1989, 1990) Holiday Barbies.  Somewhere.  Moved a year ago and have not caught up with where we put everything so I do not know the hair color.  But they were never removed from the boxes.
Now, for another questions.  I kept my Barbie dolls and my two daughters played with them and their own.  Some things I threw out (the Barbie house and Fashion show - provided many wonderful hours of play but was pretty torn up) once my daughters finish grad school and find a real job and a real place to live I want to go through it all with them (my husband did not happily moved the many Barbie boxes and is even more unhappily storing them) and decide what to do with it all.  Is there a market for clothing and dolls that have been played with?  Thank you all so much as we attempt to decide what to do with our accumaltions due to age!!

Answer
Hi Carol!  Hope this finds you doing very well!  I just checked my order with Powells Books for the updated vintage Barbie price guide and the book hasn't shipped yet, but it should ship out within a few business days.  As soon as I get it, I'll look up your dolls and get back in contact with you.

Many Thanks and Blessings,
Julie B.

Expertise

If your question has anything to do with Barbie dolls, I can usually find an accurate answer for you, as long as you are asking about the "real" Barbies...not the "Bratz" line that Mattel put out. I do extensive research regarding both vintage and contemporary Barbie dolls, as well as rare, ultra-limited, platinum series, gold series, silver series, "pink-box" series Barbies, considered either collectible at this time or not. Just about anything Barbie doll related, I can probably assist you with, such as their current re-sale value, how to tell truly vintage Barbies from more recently produced Barbies, etc.

Experience

Extensive research, resources to include books I own, on-line resources, personal friends who have been long-time, "hard-core" Barbie doll collectors and researchers like myself, as well as any other means I need to take to find the answers needed regarding Barbie dolls.

Education/Credentials
Extensive research regarding Barbie dolls over the past several years.
