Question Hi Sophie -
What was shot in the song I Live With It Everyday? Beacause if the reference to nature being a safety net, I imagine it is an animal - a cat? Is this a true story? Thanks so much!! Have a great day,
Stephanie
Answer Dear Stephanie,
Thanks for the question. When I listen to "I Live With It Everyday," I have always thought that he shot his best friend between his "baby-blue eyes," and this is the reason that he tries to commit suicide later in the song. I think the line about nature being a "safty net" may be an ironic one. It is instinct to remember things, especially mistakes that you don't want to make again. But he wishes that he could forget about this whole ordeal or shooting his friend because he didn't ever mean for it to happen.
I haven't ever heard that this song is based on a true story, but that doesn't mean it couldn't have been. I can only tell you that I have heard that some of their songs were based on real events.
I hope this has answered your questions and if you need anything else feel free to ask! Have a great day!
