Question
I had gastric bypass surgery in March 2006. I was 325 pounds before I has the bypass. I am now 143 pounds. I am having pain in my stomach before and after I eat. The pain is in the upper part of my stomach. Lots of cramping everyday all day. The pain in my stomach causes me not to be able to eat. I have not stop loosing weight and I am very afraid. I believe their is something seriously wrong inside my stomach I am now down to eating noodles and liquids because this is the only thing my stomach will allow. What do I do now, do I need to reverse the surgery? I am very weak, tired all the time and I am unable to eat most of the time. I am always in pain.

Answer
Alicia,
From your description of things I would agree it is likely you have a problem with your surgical anatomy.  I strongly advise you to make an appointment in person with your gastric bypass surgeon ASAP, and discuss this with him/her so that some tests and interventions can be accomplished.

Best of luck,
Dr JP
