Question
Hi there i am 170kgs and i am looking into lap band, my doc says he would like me to do it, i am keen..
But I only have my Right Kidney.. I was only born with one.
Should this be a problem in regards to lap band procedure?
many thanks

Answer
Stuart,

In general, having one kidney is not at all a contraindication to Lap Band surgery.  In fact, there is some evidence that the weight loss that can result from the surgery is very helpful for kidney function.

I hope this helps.
