Question
Hi my name is Chris and i am a freshman in high school. I'm a pitcher and am left-handed. I throw about 76-78 mph and have a good curve ball. Do i really have any chance of getting recruited by a good college?

Answer
Hey Chris,
You should probably work on increasing your pitch speed. You need to get up to about 90 mph, though there are a few pitchers that throw far less than that.. (Jaymie Moyer, for one). It's also more important to locate your pitches. Do some upper body weight lifting and lower body, too, for your leg strength.  Speed comes from both..
Good Luck..
