Question
How to properly hold a first baseman's glove?

Answer
Hi Andrew,

depends on the circumstances.  The first baseman's (FB) glove should always be up and ready, open and a BIG target.

Also depends on the age and experience of the FB.  Younger players may not have the experince, speed, agility and reflexes of older players, so a glove ready stance is always best.  Older players can adjust their glove position according to their ability and the play.

A great website for fielding positions is http://www.qcbaseball.com/skills/infield_firstbase1.aspx

It has several pages on FB position, pitcher, catcher and double-play situations.
