Question

OK, here is the scenario for a high school game:



Man on first.  Batter hits a fly ball.  Man on first stays close to base in case ball is caught.  Batter runs to first.  The ball is caught.  Batter then breaks hard from first to second simulating a tagging runner.  He gets half way to the base then stops and heads off the field.  Meanwhile, the initial runner stayed on first base.



Other than the batter being out, is there a call on this play (interference, etc.).  Thank you.

I am not familiar with high school rules, however, if a runner tries to deceive a fielder to make a throw, then it can be considered interference, and the runner at first base can be called out.  If it is deemed to be unsportsmanlike conduct, the offending batter can be ejected from the game.
