Question
What are the most effective pitching styles?

Is throwing Fastpitch Softball style against the rules of Major League Baseball or any other organization?

There are no requirements against pitching underhanded in the major leagues.  There have been a few players who threw that way, the most recent example I can think of is Chad Bradford.  He almost scrapped his knuckles with every pitch.

As far as most effective style, whatever works works.  Almost everyone today throws overhand.  So, given that the objective is to win, that must be the most effective way to get batters out at the major league level.  Otherwise people would be using some other pitching style.
