Baseball Instruction/All Star Rules

Question
Tomorrow was to be opening day of our all star festivities , as well as my sons teams first game.  I received a call tonight around 9:30 PM for our coach stating that the game had been postponed until Monday night (a time which I work, took tomorrow off for the game) because the opposing team didn't have enough players to play.  Why would this game be postponed in a tournament schedule such as this, and not be a forfeit and counted as a loss for the opposing team?  Any clarification or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks-Matt

Answer
Matt,

It all depends on how the tournament is run.  I suspect the organizers would rather play the games, then have a team win on a technicality.

There are no general rules in the rulebooks dealing with how to organize and run a tournament, so it really is up to whoever is putting the whole thing on.

Hope this helps!

Brian
