Question hi , im 11 amd i can throw a circle change fastball cureball slider .What of those pitches can i pitch
Answer Hi Peter,
Wow! At your young age, that is impressive that you already know how to throw so many pitches. This will definitely come in handy later as you get older. However, I recommend that all young pitchers stick with only a fastball and a basic changeup until high school. Once in high school, you can add other breaking pitches like a curveball or slider. I recommend you throw only fastballs and changeups at this time because:
1. Your body is still developing and these two pitches have the least impact on your arm. Curveballs and sliders put a large amount of stress on your arm.
2. You need to focus on developing your accuracy and confidence with your fastball before moving onto other pitches. Believe it or not, two pitches will be plenty for you to focus on right now. Get used to learning to throw these pitches to all four corners consistently and adding natural movement to your fastball.
Good luck on your upcoming season. If you have any additional questions, please let me know.
Best,
Jack Elliott
