Baseball Instruction/Varsity Tryouts

Question
I'm a bit in a twist. I've been playing rec. baseball for I don't know how long and I've mostly been the best on the team with hits and outs.(sorry if i sound like I'm bragging)I've tried out for JV 5 times and I feel like I'm one of the best out there and don't act like i do. Well, last season I was assistant manager of the team to get to know the coaches and for them to get to know me. Well during that season i conditioned more than ever and gave a butt load of effort. Then tryouts came again. I "STILL" didn't make the team and times running out for me. If I don't make these tryouts, any suggestions on how i could possibly make a college team walk on? Because now I'm hearing that making my high school team is a political matter...

Thanks, James

Answer
James,

Yes, it sounds like a political matter.

I would recommend going to an open tryout at a local college if that is what you have your heart set on.  You can also make contact with the college coaches to see if they are offering open tryouts.

Other than that, I cannot see a way to make a college team.

I hope this has helped.  Should you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask!
