Question
My son plays in the division for 8-11.  There are 5 teams of 11 kids and 1 with 12.  I know that if there are only 8 players the team that is short uses a player from the other team for defense.  What is the official rule for playing if you have only 7 players.  Can you tell me where to find it in the Green Book.  The person in charge of our division is talking about having a Player Pool to pull from if you are short kids.  He said that it is in the Green Book.  Can you clarify for me.  Thanks

Answer
Diana,

A team cannot play with less than 9 players.  There is no such rule pertaining to pulling a kid from the opposite team for defense.  Pool Play is where the league player agent keeps a list of names of players who wish to play extra games.  Should a team be short one day, the player agent picks a name at random, and the player picked plays on the short team for that game.

I hope this has helped.  Should you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask!
