Baseball Instruction/pitching

Question
Hello,

Thank you for taking my question. I have a 16 year old son that is 6'4" and has just started pitching last year. He has played first base all through little league. His pitching has improved greatly and he was just selected at a relief pitcher for his Varsity baseball team. If he continues to grow as expected he could be 6'8" when all is said and done.  What can he do to continue to improve his skills and possibly get into a starting position next year? thank you.

Answer
I think he would need to continue to improve his arm strength. That means getting on a good long toss program of at least 3 days a week during the summer. He also will need to develop him at least two off speed pitches that he can throw for a strike. If his control is not the best have him work on being able to command his fastball. Meaning throw it where he wants to.
