Question
QUESTION: Our son moved up this year to the 9 year old.. All winter we had him in hitting instruction classes to help with his swing..He did really well the owner of the place was very impressed. Now our season has started and he had 5 games and every game strikes out.. He is a mess and doesn't want to play anymore. They had a baseball camp and he hit all day, the game that night strikes out again. He wants to try out for the travel team and now is afraid because of his hitting.. He has never had confidence issues and i keep building him up and practicing but as soon as the game comes its the same thing.
His instructional classes have changed his swing and he is great then the game comes and its another strike out
I really don't know how to help him, any advice will be greatly appreciated.

ANSWER: Can you please expain a little more to me? Is he striking out everytime?

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: Yes everytime up at bat, or he may walk. He was at a camp that was held and had 2 home runs the game that night struck out.

Answer
If he is swinging and missing then he is more than likely pulling his head off the ball. Sometimes hitting a homerun is not a good thing as kids begin to try and swing harder and pull thier head. have him start to swing and look at home plate after he hits the ball.
