Baseball Instruction/Youth Pitching

Question
I have three boys and my oldest is ten. He plays little league and I notice that he and every other kid on his team are trying to throw curve balls and other pitches. I was taught that you did not throw that stuff till you are much older. I now understand about growth plates and torque on elbows.  I would like to have a constructive conversation with his coaches about it.  can you give me your opinion or any resources on the subject.

Thank you

Answer
As a 17 year veteran coach of highly touted select teams, if I saw anyone throw off speed stuff before 12-13, I benched them.  Emfactically NO on my teams....I agree w/ you.

However, if I am umping the game, I am not allowed to say a word since I am not the coach.

Thanks for the question....Andy
