Question
I recently sent in this question 4 05 5 days ago----I got no response!!..my question was ' do major league ball players still include the batting tee in their workouts, I say they do but, some people disagree...please respond, thank-you John Willet

Answer
Hi John,

The degree of use will vary depending on the player; however, major leaguers definitely use the batting tee.  Former players like Tony Gwynn swore by its effectiveness in raising their game.  It is an invaluable tool at helping learn to hit to the opposite field, correct an upper cut swing and also improving your ability to hit the baseball in different positions.  It has some inherent advantages that other hitting options like batting practice or soft toss just do not offer.  I don't see its use going away any time soon.  The only thing that may change is how often the average player uses it.

Also, regarding your previous question submission, if the question was sent to me, I am afraid I never received it.  I normally try to send responses to all my question submissions within 48 hours at the latest.  If it was sent to someone else on our team, I am sorry you did not get a response; however, I have no control over their actions.  With this said, I know sometimes I send responses to clients that are not received so this may be what occurred there.  Regardless, I hope you receive this response quickly and it answers your question fully.

Best,
