Baseball Instruction/Umpire Interference

Question
My son is 12 and plays shortstop in youth baseball leagues with 70 foot basepaths and stealing.  Sometimes umpires postioned on the infield to the shortstop side of the mound obstruct his view of ground balls and ability to field.  Should he resptectfully ask the umpire to move.

Answer
He can ask but we are not obligated to move as we are taught specific areas so we can be in the best position to make calls.....Personally, I, as do other veterans, always look around & ask if the 2B or SS is OK....It's no problem for me to move 203 feet so as to not inhibit their view.....

Thanks for the question.....Andy
