Baseball Instruction/play at home plate

Question
I have a question pertaining to any play at home plate, is it mandatory that the runner slide into home when the play is at the plate? or are the runners allowed to run over the catcher or pitcher covering the play at the plate? Is there a little league rule for us to refer to?

Answer
Sharon,

I am not trained in Little League rules, so I cannot answer the situation for their rules. However, I can tell you that the situation changes depending on the league. There is no baseball rule that requires sliding at a base, but many youth organizations have rules that require it.
