Baseball Instruction/Pitching

Question
Hey John,

My son has a good speed for a 12 year old, but tends to constantly pitch high.  How can I get him to keep the ball down?  Also, how can I improve his velocity?  Thank you in advance.

Answer
Rudy,
Sorry for the late reply.  Watch your sons follow through and release point.  If you finish high you will leave the ball up in the zone.  He may also need to retrain himself to adjust his release point.  A quick way to improve velocity is to improve flexibility.  Make sure you son stretches often and not just the arm, make sure its the whole body.  Also strengthening his core and leg muscles will help with his power and the flexibility will add the speed.  Let me know if I can help further.

Thank You,
John Priest
