Baseball Instruction/Fair or Foul

Question
If the batter swings and it hits off of home plate which is fair and the catcher field it,but is in the batter's bos while fielding it but is in fair territory(he's not all the way back in the box) cause the batters box is big. would it be a foul ball if he fields it in batter's box?

Answer
Heather,

It does not matter where the fielder is when fielding the ball.  Fair/Foul is judged from the position of the ball when touched.  If the ball was in fair territory when touched then it is a fair ball.

I hope this has helped.
