Baseball Instruction/fines

Question
if a player in pro baseball catches a ball and throws the ball up into the stands does that player get fined?

Answer
No, the "cost" of baseballs are figured into the game.....so there is no fine.

Each umpire crew rubs down & approves six dozen baseballs for each game during their pre-game meetings.  There are always more available if needed.....When a baseball goes into the dirt, the ump throws it out to a ball boy.  He then puts it back in play after cleaning it & rubbing it up again as long as it does not have any serious scuff marks on it.

Great question.....

If this helped, please rate me positively, if not then let me know back....

Thanks, Andy

P.S.  In NFL, there is a minimum $1,000 fine if a player throws a ball into the stands, but the fine is not for the ball, it's more of a "show boating" penalty.  But if you get paid hundreds of thaousands per year, who cares?
