Baseball Instruction/The pitcher and signs

Question
Can the pitcher take signs from someone other than the catcher

Answer
Ed,

Sure.  The reason the catcher typically gives the signs is that they are hidden from view of most everyone but the pitcher and middle infielders.  If a team developed signs and signaled them from somewhere else, that would be perfectly legal.

Hope this helps!
