Baseball Instruction/BASEBALL RULING

Question
A FLY BALL HITS THE TOP OF THE OUTFIELD WALL, BOUNCES INTO THE FOUL POLE, LANDS IN THE OUTFIELD, IS IT A HOME RUN, LIVE BALL, OR GROUND RULE DOUBLE?

Answer
Larry,

It depends on the ground rules in the stadium in question.  In many cases, there is a yellow line at the top of the wall and the ground rule states that a ball hitting or above the line is a home run.

If there is no line and no ground rule, then what you describe would be a live ball.  The hitter can get all that they are able!

Hope this helps!
