Baseball Instruction/Batter interference at home plate

Question
Is the batter required the leave the batter's box when a player is stealing home on a fast pitch? What are the rules?

This is question is from a minor softball league game for 9-10 year old girls.

Thanks.

Answer
Tom,

The batter has a right to remain in the batter's box.  However, if the batter is intentionally interfering with the play, then interference may be called on the batter.  However, just because a runner is stealing home doesn't mean the batter must vacate the batter's box.
