| Comment | Thank you, Brian, for the encouragement and kindness. It means a lot to me that you had a bit of a sympathetic slant to this; you have a lot of heart and I truly appreciate it. If everybody expressed their disapproval of this low tactic, then managers wouldn't dare to instruct their pitchers to do it. They didn't dare do it when the old greats like Ted Williams and Stan Musial went out to bat. The crowd simply wouldn't have stood for it.
