Baseball Instruction/arm strength

Question
how can you build your arm strength

Answer
Hi Jonathan,

to develop arm strength you need to use the arms on a regular basis.  Push-ups, chin-ups, some weight training (not so much if you are under 16) and constantly throwing a ball. If you do weights, the objective is to build strength and not bulk muscle.  Light weights with rapid repetition is best.  The real strength will come with baseball practice and throwing.  Care should be taken since throwing is not a natural action for any human.

Make sure you warm-up before and cool-down afterwards, 10 minutes each is best.  Incorporate a workout program that you can stick to between baseball practices.

Best of luck,

General questions: baseball rules, setting up a little league, establishing emergency action plans, coaching skills, techniques, discipline, rewards, sport/league promotion.
