Question
is there a paper that you have with a coach showing his hand plays to the players ( example:sacrifice bunt)

Answer
Hi Jamal,

If you are talking about teaching your kids signals,  there are are few good books on the subject.  Here is a good website for the basic signals:  http://www.canoe.ca/BaseballCanadaCoachesCorner/tips_offensive2.html

If your are not use to using signals, keep them simple and practice them each time you are with your players.  You can write your signals down and give each player a sheet.

I have my own system but I use traditional 'keys' like the belt buckle, the edge of my baseball cap, my wrist.

I give the good key for the day (I touch my cap) then immediately I slide my right hand down my left arm = Meaning:  sacrifice bunt!

Good luck,

I would prefer questions regarding coaching from atom to pee-wee, ages 7 to 14. I have no problems answering questions about coaching other sports. General questions: baseball rules, setting up a little league, establishing emergency action plans, coaching skills, techniques, discipline, rewards, sport/league promotion.
