I would like to know how the inactive list works? What does it mean if you are placed on the inactive list?

The inactive list in baseball refers to someone who is not able to play for a reason other then injury. I'm not sure it is used by major league teams though - I think it may only be used within the minor leagues.
It does seem to clear space on your team roster.
Sorry I don't have more info - it doesn't seem to be talked about much and again, major league teams do not have a category for this.
