Question
I'm currently a senior in high school. I have 75-80 mph fastball and a decent slider. my problem is i don't have good a change up or curveball. I can't seem to get a good break on my curveball and my changeup just floats right down the midddle. the other teams sit on my fastball and slider and get basehit after basehit and when i try throwing the curve or change they take me yard. how can improve my change up and curveball?

Answer
Alex when it comes to pitching a good pitcher knows how to set his pitches up.If a team is sitting on your fastball and slider then that tells me you are not owning the inside corner of the plate.Try running more fastballs up and in or low and in.Try to make the batters move thier feet.A little fear in the box makes every good pitcher more effective. Also try not throwing sliders in slider counts.Sometimes pitch backwards. On your change up,well if you want an effective changeup then it needs to be at least 10 mph slower that your fastball. That means you need your changeup between 65-70mph.Remember that you can never get hurt in the dirt.Try to get them to chase the changeup out of the zone and dont throw it for strikes. On the curveball, it will be hard for you to master both the slider and curveball. If it aint working put it on the shelf and stick with the change and the slider. Also work on improving your fastball.LOTS OF LONG TOSS!
