Answer Hello Keith.First of all let me say this there are a lot of pitchers in high school who think they have three pitches. In reality they only have one and two maybes.Having or saying you have three pitches in high school is not going to make you better. What you need to learn is how to spot your fastball anywhere in the strikezone.Up, down, in, and out.You can learn how to use your fastball in two or three different ways. You can have your reagular fourseam fastball, which you use for pinpoint control. You can learn to throw a two seam fastball which has movement to it.And you can learn how to throw whats called a b.p. fastball or you learn to take something off the fastball. You use that fastball when you my be behind in the count to a good hitter who is aggressive. You take something off the fastball or throw it a little slower and you can get the hitter out front and he just misses it resulting in a high deep flyout,a rollover to shortstop or a pop up to the catcher. So you see if you learn how to work your fastball you can do alot just with it.Now if you wanted to learn a offspeed pitch I would suggest you learn how to throw a change-up.It is the easiest pitch to learn and to control, it is also the least stressful on your arm. There are so many sites you can go to that will show you the different grips and how to throw them.Check some out on the internet.I would also suggest putting alot of time in developing a good fastball. The better that fastball the more effective that change-up will be.Get on a throwing program where you are throwing at least 20minutes three times a week.Work at least 5 minutes of long toss in everytime.I hope this has been helpful. If you need more insite I will be here to help as much as possible.
