Question Bases loaded. Batter hits the ball. First basement field the ball and throws home. At the throw to home the third base runner doesn't slide, but is hit by the throw coming in. Is the runner to home safe or out? Thanks for helping.
Answer Kevin,
The runner is not forced to slide, he has a right to home plate. It sounds to me like he was hit while attempting to touch home. Had he interfered with the throw on purpose, it would be an out.
Should you have any other questions, please let me know.
