Baseball Instruction/scoring a baseball game

Question
Are there any good references on how to score a game while watching it?  Our local team hands out scoring sheets to the people in the stands, and I would like to teach my children to score the game - after first learning myself, of course.

Thank you for your assistance.

Answer
J,

There are a million ways to score a baseball game.  Everyone has their own system.  But they all have some things in common.

A great web site to get you started is:

http://www.baseball-almanac.com/scoring.shtml

They also reference a book by Paul Dickson that is excellent.

I recommend reading the site and then making their system work for you.

Also, if you search the internet (www.google.com) for baseball scoring game; you'll get a host of sites that discuss the issue.  Some people score using a complicated system keeping track of every pitch.  Others (including me) use a more simplified approach that just deals with the results of the at bat.

I hope this helps!
