Question
Who was the first Yankee player not named Mickey Mantle to hit home runs from both side of the plare in one game

Answer
Tom Tresh hit homers from both sides as a Yankee three times, the first time on September 1, 1963.

Ed,

There was no one in a Yankee uniform to hit a home run from both sides of the plate before Mantle. However, there was a player who accomplished the feat while he was playing for another team and then later in his career became a New York Yankee. His name was Wally Schang, and he hit home runs from both sides of the plate in a game on September 8, 1916 when he was playing for the Philadelphia A's. Mantle, by the way, hit HRs from both sides ten times, the first time on May 13, 1955, a game in which he hit three homers.
