In the early '60s I read in Sports Illustrated the twice this happened twice within two weeks or so. A major lesgue teanm scored 13 runs in the bottum of the ninth with two out to win the  game. Could you tell me the  four teams involved and the year that it happened. Thanks for any info you can give me

Here's the best I can do on this question. I cannot find a record of anything like you describe in your question. There were indeed two teams that scored 13 runs in the 9th inning, but in both cases, the runs were scored in the top of the ninth inning, and in neither case was this accomplished after two outs.

The record for most runs scored in the 9th inning is 14, done by Baltimore on 4/24/1894.  The "modern day" record is 13 runs done by both California Angels on 9/14/1978 and Detroit Tigers on 8/8/2001. Oddly enough, the opponent on both these occasions was the Texas Rangers.
