Baseball Trivia (General)/Home Post Season Wins at Wrigley

Question
Mike and Mike said the Cubs have only seven home post season wins since the went to Wrigley in 1916. Is this true?  As a comparison, how many post season home wins do the Yankees have since 1923?

Answer
Mark,

I'm so sorry. I checked my figures that I gave you the other day and both of them were incorrect.

The Cubs did indeed win seven post-season games in Wrigley field in the post-season. They had two wins there in 2003, not one as I previously told you.

The Yankees won fully 101 post-season games in Yankee Stadium, beginning with a World Series win against the NY Giants in 1923 to a win against the Indians in last year's ALDS.

Hope you'll forgive the error.

Tom

Mark,

I count only six wins for the Cubs in Wrigley in the post-season: 2 there in 1984, and one each in 1935, 1945, 1989, and 2003.

By contrast the Yankees have 89 post-season wins in Yankee Stadium.
