Baseball Trivia (General) - Going 5 for 5

Expert: Patrick Clevenger - 2/1/2008

Question
Hey! Hope you're having a great off season. I'm reading a book by Pete Rose in which he says he has(or had)the National League record for going 5 for 5. Is this still true and who holds the American League record?
Thanks in advance.

Answer
I can't wait till Pitchers and Catchers report.

However, I'm confused by your question.  A lot of players have gone 5 for 5 or even 6 for 6 in ball games.  I know Pete Rose holds the NL record for most career games with 5 or more hits (10), but I don't know about the 5 for 5 record.
