Question
A friend of mine want to bet me that 20 runs were scored by one team more than 10 times last year. It can be any one team and the same team could have done it more than once. Would you know this info or where I could find it without checking every score from last year. This is for all of major league baseball......Thanks Mike

Answer
Mike,

You will have to scan the scores, but it's not a big problem to check this out. It will only take a few minutes. For example, I've already checked the season for ten American League teams (& found 3 games with 20 or more runs), and it took about 3 minutes.

Go to www.baseball=reference.com

In the column the left, click on "Box Scores"

Now click on last year: "07"

Now you will see a list of all 30 teams. You will have to check each one, but this goes fast. For example, click on "Tampa Bay Devil Rays" The first section past the intro matter is "Game Results," where you will find "Most Runs Allowed" and "Most Runs Scored" with a date. Now sliding down the page you can scan the entire season's scores for that team in just few seconds. Some teams will not have a game with 20 runs in it. Obviously, you can skip right over them. Just as obviously, the game with 20 runs in it will be the only one of the season.

Good luck.
